Prayer Intentions

Let’s pray for our Mater Dei students, families, friends, donors, alumni, faculty, staff and administration – that you protect us and keep us safe during this time of uncertainty and fill us with Your wisdom, courage and love.

Let’s pray that we can be a light to the world as our saintly ancestors where during times of plague.

Let’s pray for all victims of the virus and their families.

Let’s pray for medical personnel who are working so hard and for civil leaders, that they make good decisions to help mitigate this situation.

Let’s pray for people who are losing their jobs and are afraid of what is to come.

Prayer for a Pandemic
By Cameron Bellm

May we who are merely inconvenienced
Remember those whose lives are at stake.
May we who have no risk factors
Remember those most vulnerable.
May we who have the luxury of working from home
Remember those who must choose between preserving their health or making their rent.
May we who have the flexibility to care for our children when their schools close
Remember those who have no options.
May we who have to cancel our trips
Remember those that have no safe place to go.
May we who are losing our margin money in the tumult of the economic market
Remember those who have no margin at all.
May we who settle in for a quarantine at home
Remember those who have no home.
As fear grips our country,
let us choose love.
During this time when we cannot physically wrap our arms around each other,
Let us yet find ways to be the loving embrace of God to our neighbors.
Amen.

Prayer for Courage

O gracious Father, source of all excellent things,
Grant us strength and hope in these days of
uncertainty, help us find courage through your
Holy Spirit, and give us grace to live not in our
own weakness, but in your unceasing steadfastness,
ever encouraged by the company of heaven;
through Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord, who
lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one
God, now and forever. Amen.
